Workshops and Seminars
Community Educational Programs
In addition to video and multimedia services that we offer to individuals and families, we are also very involved in our community because we are so passionate about educating the public on the importance of life history preservation.
We have a range of seminars, workshops and programs with community partners that are designed to further our cause (see Why We’re Here for more info).
Family History Seminars

Our seminar generally also includes a free drawing, and an invitation for attendees to schedule consultations to discuss further, or to sign up for a workshop, if your organization will be hosting any.
More Seminars to come…
Please contact us for more details. TribYoute’s Founder, Karyn Reohr, also accepts speaking engagements for veteran’s clubs, historical societies, and other family-related community organizations. Please contact Karyn to discuss your speaker needs and she will design a custom content seminar or talk for your organization.
Family History Workshops
Many of our workshops are designed or can be modified for retirement communities, either independent or assisted living. Our workshops can also take place in community and educational centers, available to the general public. Our workshops are designed to build off of one another, but can also be scheduled individually.
Workshop 1: Getting Organized and Started
Overview: 1-hour workshop will allow attendees to bring their unorganized ideas, memories, photos, and memorabilia, and select which pieces of their life history they would like to include in their project. There will be questions and outlines provided for those who don’t know where to begin.
Value: Attendees walk away with the final materials they need to begin their “living legacy” project, and a plan/outline for completing it. Outlines and ”interview” question resources provided by TribYoute.
Requirements: Attendees should bring photos or other memorabilia if they can. No other requirements other than desire to complete a “living legacy” project – written, oral or video. Max class size 10 for assisted living, 15 for independent living and community centers.
Workshop 2: Digitizing your Photos and Memorabilia
Overview: 1-hour workshop will help attendees take their paper photos and other items and “preserve” them in digital form using modern laser scanners.
Value: Attendees walk away with a CD with their photos and memorabilia on it (digital), that they can use to place inside books, use in a video project, or just keep on CD as a preserved image (paper fades, tears and scratches over time).
Requirements: Attendees need to be able to feed photos through a hand-held scanner (it is very easy and they will be instructed beforehand). TribYoute will provide the scanners, computer and CD’s to burn. Attendees may bring up to 100 photos or other items. 3-D objects can be brought too! Program 2: Interview Day

TribYoute will come to your facility and set up an interview area with professional camera, lighting, and sound. Program will entail up to 8, 1-hour interview time slots (minimum of 3 for us to be able to come at these rates). Residents will sign up for a slot, come to a pre-determined area at your facility for the interview, and be interviewed for an hour. Basic Edit: $275 ($120 off!)
Documentary Edit: $595 ($200 off!)
(Please see our Biography Video Details page for a description of the Editing Packages)
This is a way for people to complete their life story project in an efficient and budget-conscious way. Residents or attendees will need to work on their own, or work with us prior to the shoot, to determine the content and direction of their video interview.
No photographs are included in the overall video. Photo inclusion can be added for a rate of $6/photo, 1-50 photos, and $3/photo above that.
DVD’s will be delivered back to the retirement community, club or society when production is complete, for delivery to the attendees. DVD’s will be packaged in our 5×5 leatherette DVD Folio with front picture insert.
